Raja Fresh engaged Olive as a technology partner in order to enhance and support their consumer-driven internet retail services. The initial objective of the partnership was to create a web presence for the company, and continue to capture and maintain a major share of their target market. Olive’s plan for the organization was to create a simple, yet effective solution for the first phase of the project by creating a website using a robust and scalable technology platform.
Olive implements SCRUM in an offshore environment
Olive was chosen by the client to develop an application with Automated Clearing House (ACH) services using the SCRUM process. SCRUM is an iterative, incremental process for developing any product. It delivers a higher business value compared to the Waterfall model. Along with functional challenges including reducing cost and time there was also the challenge of implementing SCRUM in an offshore environment. These challenges were overcome by Olive by effectively coordinating geographically dispersed SCRUM teams. As a result the client not only was able to cut cost but also was able to market a software product that gave them higher business value. The product was developed in latest Microsoft .NET 3.5 framework using best in the class tools of Microsoft Visual Studio.

When Canada’s top sewing machine retailer analyzed their business processes, they realized that the current operations were inefficient since they had separate systems for storing information. The operations of the customer were being handled by disparate systems developed and implemented over a period of time. While the disparate systems implemented were usable, the entire length of the required functionality was not serving the unique business needs of the customer. They asked Olive Technology to identify a solution that would combine their current operations. Olive Technology presented a solution that was unique to the needs of the company. This required Olive to customize an open-source, Java-based, Enterprise Resource Planning product for the current and future business processes.

The client approached Olive with a need to support their back-end distribution, which is a centralized database management system for all internal operations at the organization. The client has been highly dependant on this application for the last 12 years. Olive identified the requirements and provided a legacy system support using the programming language Informix-4GL, which enhanced their system services with high consistency, more accuracy, and quick delivery. Olive inherited the client’s role and provided the overall support to the existing system.

Java Solution using TUNA for a Credit Information System
Our client, Sonlight Curriculum Ltd., is a Littleton, Colorado-based business focusing on home school curriculum. Sonlight approached Olive to maintain their web store system by providing a time payment option. TransUnion is a global credits information management organization providing intermediate access to individual’s credit reports to its customers. Sonlight needed to acquire credit information of the clients placing online orders to improve their delivery system.
Olive provided a Java-based web solution called TUNA (TransUnion Net Access) for the credit information and data management system. Olive facilitated integration of TransUnion’s credit reporting system with the client’s system. The solution provided an automated system to the client’s business and substantially enhanced its credit information
system.
A Case Study on Digitization for Publishing
The client envisioned a system for hosting and managing a large e-magazine archive online to give subscribers easy access to all current and previous issues. The client was looking for a solution to a technological problem that a local company was unable to provide.The publishing organization had specific needs that Olive was able to meet by:

A case study on Enabling financial services through automated clearing house
The client, an Automated Clearing House (ACH) service provider, approached Olive with a need to develop a secure, web based electronic payment transaction system focusing on single, recurring, and batch transaction processing. The additional requirements included web-based transaction entries, secure payment delivery system, and the ability to allow transaction approval before releasing into the banking network.
Olive understood the requirements from the client side and provided a web application based on .NET framework which streamlined client payment processing to small banks and larger corporations. The ACH system allowed the client to have control, and the ability to continue to offer their users automatic updates without downloading or purchasing an application.
